We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with qualifications and experience working with children in the upper primary years. Candidates should be committed to high standards, interested in using innovative approaches to learning, and enthusiastic about promoting international understanding. A strong commitment to purposeful teaching, collaborative planning and open communication is essential.
Our classrooms are exciting centres of collaborative learning and this extends to the philosophy and vision of relations between teachers and families. We believe that collaboration with families is of particular importance and our teachers interact comfortably and confidently with parents as well as being imaginative and flexible classroom practitioners.
We expect high standards in teaching and learning with a special awareness to language acquisition and literacy since the majority of students do not have English as their mother tongue.
The school has a 1:1 tablet project across the primary School and all teachers use iPads in their regular activities. Staff are provided with personal iPads for the duration of their time at school and each student has a personal iPad for use in school and at home.
Applicants must be willing to be active, flexible participants in a hard-working team of teachers.
The initial contract will be for the completion of this academic year after which there would be the possibility of converting the contract into a permanent position of employment.
- To hold "Certified Teaching Status" or equivalent qualifications;
- To have had a minimum of two years teaching experience with students of primary age;
- To be an EU passport holder or already be in possession of a valid visa that enables to work in Italy.
Previous experience with IB programmes is helpful but not required and official IB training will be offered, together with relocation assistance.
