Primary Teacher (KS2)

Garden International School is a coeducational school of around 500 students, with classes from Early Years to Year 13.  We have approximately 40 nationalities represented in our community and use an educational framework based on the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.  Many of our students have English as a second, or even third, language; these students are supported by a strong English Language Support department which works effectively to help them reach required levels of proficiency. We have a small boarding facility, and the school has a wonderful sense of community.  Class sizes are generally small, with the students well motivated, engaged in their learning and supported by their families. Year on year our results are impressive with around 90% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades at IGCSE, and an IB average point score of around 35 (world average around 30).

We are looking for an energetic, dynamic KS2 teacher to join our team. The Primary section of the school is two-form entry with partner teachers and specialist teachers working closely together to deliver our unique curriculum based on the 2014 English National Curriculum.  The successful candidate will be an excellent all-round teacher with good organisational skills, as well as initiative and a commitment to all aspects of school life. In addition, s/he should have a proven ability to communicate well through a variety of media with different sections of the school community. Experience of teaching the UK curriculum, and a knowledge of Singapore Maths would be desirable.

Garden International School is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and the Thai Ministry of Education (ONESQA). We are affiliated to the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) and the Department for Education in the United Kingdom. Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection.  Appointed teachers from the United Kingdom are required to provide, at their own cost (of about GBP 60), and before travel arrangements are confirmed, an International Child Protection Certificate (UK) (refer: http://www.acro.police.uk/ICPC/).
