We are looking for two energetic, dynamic KS2 teachers to join our team. The Primary section of the school is two-form entry with partner teachers and specialist teachers working closely together to deliver our unique topic-based curriculum which is extended from the 2014 English National Curriculum. The successful candidates will be excellent all-round teachers with good organisational skills, as well as initiative and a commitment to all aspects of school life. In addition, they should have a proven ability to communicate well through a variety of media with different sections of the school community. Experience of teaching the UK curriculum, and a knowledge of Singapore Maths would be desirable. For a suitably experienced candidate, the role of Primary ICT Co-ordinator may also be available.
We have a vibrant extra-curricular programme across the school, and candidates able to coach sports, especially football, swimming and basketball would be particularly welcome.
Garden International School is a coeducational school of around 460 students, with classes from Early Years to Year 13. We have over 40 nationalities represented in our community and use an educational framework based on the English National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Many of our students have English as a second, or even third, language; these students are supported by a strong English Language Support department. We have a small boarding facility, and the school has a wonderful sense of community. Class sizes are generally small, with the students well motivated, engaged in their learning and supported by their families. Year on year our results are impressive with around 90% of students achieving 5 or more A*-C grades at IGCSE, and an IB average point score of around 33 (world average around 30).
Our school is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) and the Thai Ministry of Education (ONESQA). We are affiliated to the International Schools Association of Thailand (ISAT) and the Department for Education in the United Kingdom. We are also a founder member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA).
Ban Chang is a semi-rural coastal town in Rayong Province, about 2 hours from Bangkok and 45 minutes from both the tourist hot-spot of Pattaya, and the bustling town of Rayong. Thailand is a vibrant and exciting country with rich cultural experiences, it is a beautiful part of the world with friendly people, year round sun and is a safe place to work overseas. The cost of living is reasonable and teachers tend to avail themselves of high quality holiday experiences in the region.
The health, safety and well-being of all of the students at Garden International School is the foremost concern of all of the adults employed by the school. Aligned with the recommendations of the International Task Force on Child Protection, we hold ourselves to a high standard of effective recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. Appointed teachers from the United Kingdom are required to provide, at their own cost (of about GBP 75), and before travel arrangements are confirmed, an International Child Protection Certificate (UK) (refer: http://www.acro.police.uk/ICPC/). Full police clearance, covering at least the previous 10 years, is necessary for all appointees who are working, or who have worked, in countries outside the United Kingdom. To assist newly appointed staff, there is a country by country check list for the procedures for obtaining a police clearance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/criminal-records-checks-for-overseas-applicants

Early applications are encouraged and applications will be assessed as they arrive. We reserve the right to close the selection process early should an exceptional candidate be identified at an early stage.
