Founded in 1971 and opened as a family-oriented British School, it was one of the first of its kind in Madrid. Today, it is based in six sites in central Madrid and has nearly 1200 pupils.

Hastings School follows the National Curriculum for England. At Primary we follow a creative, topic curriculum based on stories from all over the world. At Secondary level pupils prepare for IGCSE, AS and A Level examinations. Most pupils go to either British or Spanish universities.

Hastings School is looking to appoint a full time Primary Teacher  from January 2021 for a Maternity Cover (Y1). Possibility of joining us permanently  from September 2021. Candidates will hold a relevant degree and a UK approved PGCE or international equivalent. Previous international is not essential but would be valuable. We are particularly looking for candidates who can teach across the Primary age range (from EY to Y6).

Hastings School is a co-educational independent British school in Madrid for pupils aged 2 to 18. Part of Cognita, one of the world’s largest families of schools, Hastings School fosters academic and co-curricular excellence alongside a truly international outlook in all of its pupils. Based on five sites in the heart of Madrid, the School has almost 1000 pupils, with 60 percent from the local community and the remaining 40 percent from 40 different nationalities. The School follows the National Curriculum for England teaching in English, with students also learning the Spanish language and culture.
