Be the teacher you always wanted to be!

Do you want to work with small class sizes in an environment where the child comes first?

Do you want to work in a new, well-resourced school where you are trusted to innovate?

If so we have the job for you!

We are looking for an inspiring and innovative Primary Teacher to deliver a Key Stage 2 curriculum to our pupils in our new site for pupils with Autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.  Westbourne School is a split site school with a new provision opening in the Summer. The school will have a capacity for 84 pupils and for the first time will take primary aged pupils. These pupils will be on our new site in Sutton in Ashfield and will predominantly have a primary need of high functioning Autism.

You will have access to high quality resources and equipment. As a teacher, this is a truly unique and exciting opportunity to help shape a brand new school and help create a truly exceptional learning environment, to support and develop our pupils. You will have the opportunity to create and tailor the curriculum as well as access high quality CPD to help pursue your own personal goals.

The teachers at Westbourne are encouraged to take a creative approach, seeking ways to positively engage with and motivate pupils. You will be confident in directing and utilising support staff within the classroom, in order to create a fun and effective learning environment for our pupils.

The ideal candidate will successfully set a vision and targets for pupil success and be confident in using their knowledge and expertise to monitor progress, give regular feedback and encourage our young people to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study. Experience of delivering phonics will also be advantageous.

Who we are looking for?

Just as important as academic achievement is the social and emotional development of our pupils. You do not have to have SEN experience but it would be an advantage.

We want our pupils to be successful citizens and positively contribute to their local communities, it will therefore be imperative to provide opportunities to advance these skills. Along with this, the use of personalised curriculums and positive reinforcement will underpin your everyday practice.

The successful candidate will be versatile in their teaching approach and be willing to teach across a variety of subjects including English, Maths, Science and Topic. Subjects such as Design Technology will be delivered by specialists. This can be a challenging environment and therefore, determination and resiliency are key characteristics for the post. We are seeking a practitioner with an understanding of SEMH and ASD, allowing the successful candidate to immediately form positive relationships and adapt to the needs of the pupils. However, we invest heavily in teacher development and want staff who endeavour to achieve more.

If you are passionate about this truly unique and rewarding sector and have the energy, drive and desire to motivate our pupils and ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes, then we welcome your application.
