The Primary School invites applications from fully qualified, enthusiastic and experienced Teachers to join our high-performing team August 2019 for a Primary Teacher of Computing Teacher - Subject Leader.

The successful applicant will be responsible for leading, planning, delivery and development of an effective Computing curriculum (Revised English National Curriculum 2014) and providing Systems Support to staff in the Primary School, when required. Previous leadership experience at Middle level would be desirable.

In addition to the responsibilities listed above, the duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Teach the prescribed curriculum to all students across the school (Early Years to Year 6)
  • Prepare long, medium and short-term plans for all Year Groups, in collaboration with other teachers and learning support staff
  • Provide differentiated learning opportunities in order to support, meet and challenge the needs of all learners
  • Ensure effective and efficient use of relevant and up to date Computing resources throughout the school
  • Assess students’ work promptly, using a range of methods and in accordance with school policies
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and attainment, using assessment data to inform instruction
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all members of the school community
  • Create and maintain a stimulating and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities
  • All staff are expected to fully adhere to and support the Christian ethos of the school

Qualifications, experience and skills required for the position listed above are:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution, together with an internationally recognised teaching certificate
  • Minimum of three to five years’ current experience teaching a British-based curriculum, including a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a specialist Computing Teacher and / or whole school Computing / ICT Leader
  • Up to date knowledge and experience of teaching the new English National Curriculum 2014 and a working knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage 2014 (EYFS)
  • Outstanding classroom practitioner, passionate about facilitating student learning skills with creative and innovative ideas
  • Experience and skills in providing differentiated learning opportunities in order to support, meet and challenge the needs of all learners is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to adapt to a range of situations
  • Exceptional and up to date knowledge and understanding of appropriate educational hardware and software, Windows, Apple iOS and Office 365 Education
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, manage multiple priorities and set and meet appropriate targets
  • Prior experience in a multicultural international school environment is an advantage


Salary range for the above position: CI$ 39,000 to $55,000 per annum commensurate with experience based on the School’s point salary scale. Other benefits include medical insurance and contribution to a pension plan and relocation allowance, including airfare.
