North Hill House School are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher to join our Teaching team!

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils.  

The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

Set in its own grounds close to Frome town centre, North Hill House is an independent specialist day and residential school for children and young people aged 6 to 19 years with high functioning autistic spectrum disorders, including Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties. 

The school has been specifically designed to provide a strong focus for both UK and international students who need different levels of support to succeed, thus allowing young people with autistic spectrum disorders, Asperger’s Syndrome and associated difficulties to thrive effectively in an ever-demanding and complex society. Students have ambitions to live and work as self-reliant adults and we can help them to reach their goals with continued support, structure and guidance. The school welcomes students on a day or weekly residential basis for 38 weeks per year

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher and ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN, along with the following characteristics:

We are seeking a motivated, skilled and resilient primary specialist with experience and/or a strong interest in supporting young people on the autistic spectrum. The chosen candidate will demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and the ability to teach effectively across a range of subject areas. 

You will have a flexible approach and will be able to meet the changing needs of our young people. With the support of colleagues, you will develop the skills, confidence and experience to deal with the challenging behaviour that some of our students can, at times, exhibit. This role may involve some personal care and you must be a driver with at least 3 years driving experience. Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and emotional resilience are essential attributes. As Class Teacher, you will direct and mentor classroom support staff.

Experience of working in a SEN environment is desirable, along with knowledge of working with ASD and complex needs.

You will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated education and support staff. Full training and development will be provided along with a bespoke induction programme and the ability to network with teachers across other Aspris sites.
