Job overview

King's College School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Primary Teacher to join a dynamic and highly committed team of teachers in August 2020

Due to the school’s expansion: King’s College School welcomes expressions of interest from teachers who would like to play an integral role in shaping the future of our school. We will have a number of infant and primary roles becoming available as well as the potential for a range of new leadership opportunities.

In September 2020 the school will open a newly refurbished second site a stone’s throw from our existing, purpose built, campus. Our new facility will primarily house students from Pre-Nursery to the end of Key Stage One. This, in turn, will lead to an increase in capacity across our full age range and we expect to continue to operate at capacity in 2020 – 2021 due to the extensive waiting lists we have in almost every year.

King’s College School is ‘Excellent’ in all areas. Our strengths are the excellent academic outcomes we achieve for all our students; our implementation of the High Performance Learning Framework; our relentless focus on student and staff wellbeing. Our first year 11 cohort will sit their iGCSE exams at the end of this academic year and we expect our results to compare favourably within the group, Spain and internationally.

The profile

  • A dynamic and pro-active teacher, preferably with independent sector or international experience.
  • Strong team player willing to support other colleagues.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum and recent developments.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school.

If you are interested in living and working in Madrid, becoming part of a fantastic staff team and being at the forefront of British education internationally then we would love to hear from you. We are open to hearing from teachers of all primary age ranges, from pre-nursery to year 6, as well as primary subject specialists as we prepare our staffing for the new academic year. We offer a relocation package, a full induction programme and school places for staff members with children.

Suitable candidates will be contacted the week beginning December the 9th for informal Skype conversations about the roles and possibilities available. Formal interviews will take place in London or via Skype the week beginning Monday 20th January.
