Job overview

This is a full time position from August 2019. The successful candidate is required to embrace and engage with the school’s ethos on its continuous professional development programme for its staff as lifelong learners.

Applicants should hold a relevant teaching qualification and be GTCS registered, and applications are welcomed from experienced or newly qualified teachers.

This job description below outlines the responsibilities of the post of Primary Teacher. It is only intended to be a guideline to the responsibilities and expectations of a Primary Teacher within the department and the wider school community.

Curriculum

  • Teach at a level to stimulate and challenge pupils whilst recognising and addressing barriers to pupils’ specific learning needs through differentiation
  • To encourage pupil’s learning through the Inquiry Cycle to support children’s sense of responsibility for their own learning
  • Committed to constantly developing strategies to improve your teaching and learning by embracing and engaging with the School’s ethos on its continuous professional development programme as lifelong learners
  • Be able to integrate and apply ICT in teaching and learning (once trained)
  • To contribute to the personal and social education of pupils within the classroom and the wider School community
  • Collaborate with colleagues within and outside the department, and with Fairview’s network of schools on lesson and unit plans to ensure continuity and progression in pupil’s learning
  • To adapt to the requirements of an international school with international staff, students and community

Whole School

  • To foster and support activities in the interests of the School and its community as an international school
  • Demonstrate awareness and promote the School’s vision and mission, for example by promoting positive relationships among staff, parents and children
  • To participate or conduct parent/public workshops for the School’s parents and the wider community
  • Communicate with parents about their children’s progress when required or requested
  • Contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and adhere to the guidelines of the School’s child protection policy
