The Post: Primary Teacher - Latvia

We are now seeking to appoint an inspiring and innovative person for our King’s School in Riga, Latvia. The school opened its doors in August 2017 and is the first British school in the country. Occupying 20,000 m2 site within the Saliena development in Babites, the school provides the local and surrounding communities with the opportunity to benefit from a quality British education, the hallmark of King’s Group.

The school has opened with pupils age 3 (Nursery) to age 11 (Year 6). As the school grows it will eventually educate pupils from Nursery to Year 13 (age 18).

The curriculum of the new school is based on the English National Curriculum and will allow pupils to study a wide range of subjects, including also those covering the Latvian Language, History and Geography. These studies will culminate in students undertaking IGCSE, and A Level examinations, which will prepare them to be able to enter the best universities in the world.

The Primary Teacher will assist all pupils to develop emotional security, self-belief and mature social skills, assist all children to develop a love of learning and an excitement about coming to school each day and recognise the unique child and plan for their development using both the indoor and out-door curriculum

About King’s College Latvia

The school has opened its doors in August 2017 and is the first British school in the country. Sitting on a site occupying 20,000 m2 within the Saliena development in Riga, Latvia’s capital city, the school will offer the local and surrounding communities the opportunity to benefit from a quality British education, the hallmark of King’s College.

The school has been designed to hold approximately 580 pupils and will eventually cater for children from the age of 2 years old (Pre-Nursery), through to 18 years old (Year 13).  It currently offers places to children between the ages of 2 and 16 years old.  As these pupils progress through their academic journey, the school will expand to cater for pupils up to 18 years old.

At King’s College our pupils study in the British curriculum which is renowned globally as being the gold star of educational systems. Pupils learn through hands-on practical experiences that aim to enrich the whole child’s growth. The school is authorised to offer the IBDP in Years 12 and 13.
