Facilities

St Benedict’s school has had a series of renovations projects in the last decade which started with the creation of six new classrooms and a library in 2007. In 2011 a further two classrooms were built, as was a new school hall. The school also has an Out Of School Hours centre and a covered outdoor learning area.

Curriculum

The Religious Education curriculum at St Benedict’s is designed to help students grow to Christian maturity. The school uses the Diocesan approved text ‘Step Out In Faith’ and each member of staff is provided with a copy of the Primary Religious Education Resource Units to help implement the relevant messages in their class. Teachers are also offered support and guidance from the school’s Religious Education Coordinator.

In addition to the Key Learning Areas St Benedict’s also has several special programs such as English as a Second Language, life education, books clubs, Aboriginal education, musical instrument classes and several literacy programs.

School ethos

The school motto is Pray Together Work Together, a notion reiterated in St Benedict’s school song that is performed by students and staff at assemblies.
