We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2. The Prince’s Trust Team Programme

Barking & Dagenham College successfully works in partnership with The Prince’s Trust to deliver the Team Programme.

Based at a state of the art centre in the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham, the programme will give unemployed 16 to 24 year-olds the skills and confidence to enter into education, training or employment. Young people will get involved in team building activities, a week-long residential trip, a community project and two weeks of work experience during the course. They will also get advice on how to write CVs as well as gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

The College is seeking a highly motivated, confident and skilled Team Leader who will put young people at the centre of what they do as we continue to build on the initial success of the programme.

We are looking to appoint a Team Leader to develop and deliver the Prince’s Trust 12 weeks Team programme at the Technical Skills Academy (TSA), Barking. 

Previous experience of delivering the Prince’s Trust Team programme is essential and you should have completed the Prince’s Trust Team Leader training programme.

A self-starter, you will also have excellent planning and organisational skills. You will have good communication skills, both written and oral, with colleagues, participants and external agencies.

You will be a capable leader able to enthuse and inspire those with whom you work, have excellent networking skills being able to garner support from employers and key stakeholders to meet the key aims of the programme.

You will be familiar with guiding learners through a portfolio based qualification, able to give constructive feedback and set SMART targets.

Located in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Barking and Dagenham College is a large further education college providing qualifications and work skills to learners aged 14 and over. The college has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation since its founding, and as a result can boast of a wide range of different teaching and recreational facilities. The college also works closely with external providers and business partners, in order to provide some teaching and work-experience off-site for students who require it.

Barking and Dagenham College offers a huge range of courses for learners of every kind, young and old, full and part-time. Of particular importance are courses aimed at 16-18 school-leavers, with a number of A-level and BTEC courses being run by the college, as well as foundation degrees for students looking to go into higher education. The college itself does actually offer a limited number of higher education degree courses, with students able to take advantage of the college's location and flexible financial offerings.
