Principal
Aldar Academies are currently seeking a Principal for Al Mamoura Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing September 2018, or earlier by negotiation.
This would be an ideal role for a strategic thinking principal with a firm grasp of how to ensure outstanding teaching and learning across all phase of the school. Candidates must be committed to working in partnership with the local community and developing ways to engage with parents and forge effective partnerships with them.
Al Mamoura Academy currently serves 1000+ students within a mixed primary section and a segregated girls’ only secondary section. Students follow the English National Curriculum and the school offers IGCSE and A-Level programmes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Strategic direction and leadership of school improvement
- Provide inspiring and purposeful leadership for the staff, students and the wider community
- To develop a school improvement plan founded in a secure understanding of data and classroom observation
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the school and the quality of teaching and learning
- Continue to maintain an environment that promotes and secures outstanding teaching, effective learning, high standards of achievement and good behaviour.
- Develop and maintain effective links with the community including business and industry, to extend the curriculum and enhance teaching and learning
- Improve the existing system for the management of staff performance, incorporating target setting and individual development plans
- Continue to develop an organisation in which all staff feel valued and recognise that they are accountable for the success of the school
Requirements:
- BA in Education or PGCE
- NPQH or Master in Education
- Minimum of 10 years teaching with 3 years leadership experience with continuous service
- Business acumen
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the Board and Strategic Governance Group

About Mamoura British Academy
Al Mamoura Academy is a partly co-educational international school located in Abu Dhabi, first accepting an intake of students in 2016. The school has primary and secondary areas, with the school’s primary division being co-educational and secondary being girls-only. As a newly built school, Al Mamoura Academy is able to boast of a huge range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, such as an auditorium, a swimming pool, numerous sports courts and halls, as well as a fully equipped library and extensive IT facilities. The curriculum at Al Mamoura Academy is primarily based on the English curriculum in primary phases, whilst secondary phases offer a wider range of international qualifications including GCSEs and A-level studies as well as a US Curriculum pathway. The school also offers Arabic and Islamic studies programmes should students wish to study them. In addition to this, the school has a wide range of extra-curricular activities available for students to take part in.
