Selby College, a highly regarded tertiary college in the heart of Yorkshire recently achieved Ofsted 'Good', with many strengths highlighted. The College remains one of the best performing in the region and is consistently in the top 10% of all UK colleges, based on achievement and performance.
We have a modern single site campus, which combines great facilities with quality teaching and very high standards.
We excel in the delivery of apprenticeships, have effective relationships with employers large and small and work closely with the local community. The College offers a broad range of A level and vocational courses and our higher education is thriving. Through astute business and financial management the College has sustained EFSA 'Good' finances, creating a sound platform for delivery.
Our Principal for over 25 years will be retiring at the end of August 2018 and we are seeking to appoint a new Principal to inspire and motivate our vibrant organisation to remain at the forefront of FE and skills, taking us through the next phase of our journey to 'Outstanding'.
Our Ideal Candidate
You may be a current Principal, or an experienced Deputy or Vice Principal ready to make your mark at the next level. You will have a proven high record of achievement with a curriculum, skills or resources background and possess strong business and financial acumen.
In every aspect you will be a strong team player, a pioneer committed to supporting the Board to develop and deliver bold and ambitious plans for the college. Sustainability is key and you will need to build a strong profile and maintain excellent networks and stakeholder relationships.
The successful appointee will possess a clear understanding of the FE landscape, be able to demonstrate knowledge of the key national education and skills policies, priorities and agendas in order to lead Selby College through the next evolution of the sector, successfully navigating many challenges.
Closing date for applications is Monday 30th April at 12:30pm and the assessment centre will be held on the 21st & 22nd May.
