Harris Academy Bermondsey is a girls' school in the heart of London with drive and ambition. Rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted, March 2015, the academy is passionate about making a difference to the lives of our young women, ensuring that they have every opportunity to succeed by nurturing their individual talents. The academy, located in an area of high disadvantage in the heart of Bermondsey and on the edge of the financial centre of the City, enables students to overcome challenges of all kinds in order to make good progress.   

We seek an uncompromising, but caring Principal who will build upon our success. Our new leader will passionately believe that with great teaching and pastoral care all disadvantage can be overcome.

The successful candidate will have a track record of raising standards and improving outcomes and will be somebody with a passion for improving social mobility. This is a rare opportunity to make a real difference to the lives and futures of talented and ambitious young women from Bermondsey.

The post would suit an ambitious leader looking either to extend their experience of Headship, or to start their first Principalship in a highly supportive and rewarding environment. For first time Principals, we can provide support in the form of individual mentoring from an experienced Harris Principal; for existing Headteachers, there will be strong opportunities to progress to Executive Principalship in the future.
