St Brendan’s Catholic Sixth Form College is situated in the south of Bristol in an exceptional modern campus setting.

We provide post-16 education in a sixth form environment underpinned by our Christian values and ideals while welcoming students from all religious and non-religious backgrounds. The College strives to act in the spirit of the gospel by providing the experience of a Christian community which supports each individual as a unique creation of God. PRINCIPAL – PERMANENT, FULL-TIME

The post of Principal is defined by the Instrument and Articles to be a ‘Reserved Post’ and the vacancy is only open to practising Catholics.

We are looking for an exceptional leader to become our new Principal. The ideal candidate will have several years’ previous experience in a senior leadership role within the Education Sector, preferably in a Further Education/Sixth Form post-16 provision. As a practising Catholic we expect you to lead, by example, in living out the mission of the College. As our Principal you will lead the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure that the College succeeds in its mission, achieves its strategic aims and objectives and fulfils its responsibilities. In addition to the strategic direction and development of the College, specific responsibilities will be determined based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

The post of Principal is also defined by the Board of Governors as a ’Senior Post Holder’.

The salary on offer is a six-point range from £92,203 to £105,339 per annum. The Board of Governors anticipates reviewing this in the near future subject to the achievement of predicted student recruitment and retention targets.

Selection events are planned to be held over 2nd to 3rd December 2019. The preferred start date for this role is 1st May 2020. This is subject to negotiation. (Term begins 20th April 2020).
