Long Road is a high achieving and inclusive sixth form college which inspires, helps and motivates our students to become the best that they can be.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding leader and manager to drive forward the College's further development, building on the excellent work of the retiring Principal, Christine Sherwin.

Committed to a culture of high expectations, leading by example and able to motivate both staff and students to reach their full potential, you will have a passion for learning, in-depth knowledge of 16-19 education and significant senior leadership experience.

You will be a creative, rigorous and resourceful strategic thinker, with the confidence to innovate and respond constructively to changing circumstances and new challenges, and will possess the skills to build productive partnerships and champion the College within the community.

Situated on an attractive, open site two miles from the centre of Cambridge, Long Road is a highly regarded, popular and growing sixth form college. Characterised by the breadth of its curriculum, the College is committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for its 2200 students, enabling them to achieve excellent outcomes and fulfil their ambitions.

Currently judged Good by Ofsted, the College’s determined ambition is to be Outstanding and to ensure that Long Road makes the strongest possible contribution to 16-19 education in Cambridge and the surrounding area.

Long Road is a thriving, successful post 16 Sixth Form College with 2,400 students on roll, in post-16 studies. Conveniently located close to the M11 and A14, within easy reach of several areas of outstanding natural beauty and the Norfolk Suffolk coast, the college is set next to the Biomedical Campus in its own attractive grounds in the beautiful, thriving and expanding Bio/Technical city of Cambridge.  Long Road provides a high quality education in a structured but friendly and open environment.  The core objective of Long Road Sixth Form College is to maintain our position as a high-achieving and inclusive sixth form college which inspires, helps and motivates our students to be the best that they can be.
