Job overview

Salary Range - £77,611 - £89,899 per annum

Required from 1st January 2020

The position becomes available because of the retirement of Miss Julie Brandreth after 13 years of outstanding leadership and service to the Academy. This creates an exciting and challenging opportunity for a well-qualified, experienced and dedicated and innovative professional to lead one of the highest performing schools in Cheshire as in association with Sir John Deanes’ Sixth Form College it becomes a founding member of the Sir John Brunner Foundation.

The County High School Leftwich is a well-established, successful and oversubscribed Academy categorised by Ofsted at the last inspection in March 2016 as “outstanding” in every aspect. It is expected to take the lead in the development of school improvement across the Foundation and continue to commit to the County High School Leftwich’s own school improvement such that it maintains and continues to improve the current high standards.

The Governors are looking to appoint an ambitious, dynamic and talented professional to lead the Academy through this exciting next stage of its development and are seeking a strong leader:

• with an outstanding record of senior leadership and management;

• who has a clear understanding of how to develop schools and raise achievement for all the students within the County High School Leftwich;

• who can demonstrate a commitment to inclusive education, with a clear focus on effective teaching and learning;

• with the vision, imagination, energy and commitment to create a transformational climate which will power school improvement;

• who can inspire and motivate students, staff, parents/carers and Governors;

• who can work successfully in partnership with other organisations within the Foundation and the educational and wider community.

The Academy welcomes informal visits by appointment on the mornings of Tuesday, May 14th and Wednesday, May 15th. Please contact Mrs. A. Pimlatt (mpimlatt@leftwichhigh.com / 01606 333301) if you would like to attend.

Closing date Monday 3rd June, 2019, 9am.

Interviews will be held over 3 days and are scheduled for the week of 10th June, 2019. The process will include a familiarisation day at the Academy and 2 days off site.

The school strives to ensure that colleagues are motivated, happy, supported and derive satisfaction from their role.

An academic Curriculum is an opportunity for and expectation of all our students, further enriched by opportunities beyond the timetable. The school’s curriculum endeavours to develop students':
· Comprehension and command of knowledge and skills

· Creativity and imagination

Our broad, balanced and enriched curriculum promotes the enjoyment of learning, motivating students to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications enabling them to realise their potential and thus exercise choice and control in their personal and working lives. The school prides itself on a sustained reputation for outstanding academic performance in a proudly inclusive learning environment.
