Job overview
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and supportive Principal to lead the Collège Alpin International Beau Soleil community from August 2025.
About the School
Founded in 1910, Beau Soleil is one of the oldest private boarding schools in Switzerland. We provide a full boarding education for students from over 60 different nationalities aged 11-18 years old. From our spectacular location in a village and ski resort in the Swiss Alps, we offer an unparalleled education both inside and outside the classroom. We provide a strong and diverse academic curriculum in both English and French, complemented and supported with a world-leading outdoor expedition and co-curricular programme. Our education helps students to develop as collaborative, resilient team players, capable of taking on the challenges of the 21st century around the world. Above all, we seek to imbue students with a strong sense of community: the relationships between students and staff create outstanding outcomes in and out of the classroom, and the friends they make are for a lifetime.
Our personalised approach to education is underpinned by globally respected curricula. In Grades 6 to 10, our students follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme. Our Grade 11 and 12 learners study for the IB Diploma or a US High School Diploma, providing access to top universities around the world. From grade 10 to grade 12, the curriculum is offered in French as well as English.
As a boarding school of 300 students and 200 staff, we form an international community which relishes its diversity. Life as a boarder is the ideal means through which students grow as people, developing through shared experiences. We travel around Europe and the world for service, cultural and adventure trips, and make extensive use of the mountains and lakes around us. Located in the centre of Villars-sur-Ollon, a small safe mountain village, allows students to develop socially and play a full role in the life of a Swiss community.
As part of the Nord Anglia Education family, we enjoy exclusive collaborations with The Juilliard School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), UNICEF and IMG Academy, as well as all the benefits of being part of an extensive network of leading international schools. We are also a member of Round Square, a global network of schools who share our passion for internationalism, and are accredited by both NEASC, the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and the IB.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and visionary leader to drive academic excellence, foster a dynamic school community, and hence inspire students to achieve their full potential in a globally connected environment. Supported by an exceptional leadership team, the principal takes responsibility for the leadership, organisation and management of the whole school community, including education, student welfare, global student recruitment, HR, finance and school development. The post-holder’s key deliverables are aligned with the school’s operational objectives and our strategic plan. To achieve them, s/he must be a genuine enthusiast for holistic education, a passionate believer in students and their success, an excellent communicator and a compelling storyteller. S/he must be able to command the respect of the school community – students and staff – by engagement in all areas of school life. At Beau Soleil, we believe it’s what you do that counts: leadership from the middle.
What we offer
When you join Beau Soleil, as with all Nord Anglia Education schools, you join a global community of more than 18,000 people working together to support our students’ success. We offer you:
- unsurpassed opportunities to innovate and develop best practice across our family
