CATHEDRAL SCHOOLS TRUST

Principal Designate

CST Trinity Academy

Responsible to: Executive Principal and Local Governing Body

Salary:   L28 - L34 (£76,464 - £88,570) on the CST Pay Scale

Start date:  January 1st 2019

Purpose of the role

Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) is seeking to appoint a Principal Designate from January 2019. It is hoped  they would, by arrangement, be able to contribute some days for key meetings and events from September 2018 onwards.

CST Trinity Academy is a new 11-19, secondary school with six forms of entry  (180 students per year group). The school will initially take students in Year 7 only, growing year on year with an eventual capacity of 1220 students including sixth-form provision.  The school will work closely with Bristol Cathedral Choir School, sharing a sixth form and facilities, and provide the very best educational outcomes for children and families in the north of the city.

The new school will offer a broad and balanced curriculum with a focus on preparation for working life, as well as enhanced opportunities for co-curricular activities including music and the performing arts.

The school will play a key role in the CST Teaching School Alliance which provides significant opportunities for staff professional development, including opportunities to develop careers via SLE, LLE and NLE status.

Cathedral Schools Trust is currently made up of one secondary school and three primary schools: Bristol Cathedral Choir School (Ofsted Outstanding in 2016), Headley Park Primary School (Ofsted Outstanding in 2013), Victoria Park Primary School (Ofsted Good in 2013) and Cathedral Primary School (Ofsted Good in 2015).  All are well established, oversubscribed and successful schools. We expect additional primary schools to join us by Autumn 2018.

We are looking for a candidate with significant leadership experience, coupled with the resilience, innovation and initiative to work with all stakeholders to successfully develop and implement the vision, ethos and ambitions for our new secondary school, CST Trinity Academy.

You will be an excellent communicator, a team player who is able to work under pressure and to manage effectively the complex process of change.

You will have a proven track record of providing outstanding education leadership, ensuring the highest expectations and standards in teaching, learning, behaviour, community engagement and resource management.
