Job overview

Ready to lead an outstanding academy? Want to work with a fantastic community of learners with special education needs?

Who are we?

Thriftwood School and College offers outstanding provision for students with moderate learning difficulties, and additional complex needs associated with autism, speech and language, and emotional difficulties.

We care about what we do and it shows. Our outstanding provision is completely focused on our children’s needs and in helping them to become independent young people.

Who do we need?

We need a committed and compassionate leader, able to lead with energy and purpose; someone with a deep understanding of children with special educational needs, and committed to supporting our pupils’ growth and development.

We’re outstanding and with your leadership, we’ll stay there. To do that, you’ll bring commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, and an interest in innovative approaches that matches our own.

Why Thriftwood?

The SEAX Trust, a unique SEN Multi Academy Trust in Essex founded by Thriftwood, is growing and developing. The role of the lead academy Principal brings great opportunities to strengthen our provision’s specialist skills, broaden our already strong outreach work, and contribute to the strategic development of the Trust.

You’ll lead a strong team that is passionate about what they do. Always looking for ways to improve, they thrive in a culture of ongoing professional development and exciting research projects.

Thriftwood will give you the autonomy of Headship plus the support of partnership with Trust academies. You will be working alongside a highly experienced CEO, well-established leadership team and the SEAX Trust Board.

Closing date: 13 June 2016 at midday
Interviews: 27 & 28 June 2016

We’d love to show you around. Contact Jo Grabowska on 0203 194 3085 and Aaron Ashton on 0203 194 3089 to book a school visit and see for yourself all we have to offer.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all staff must share this commitment. The post is subject to enhanced DBS checks.
