Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, committed and innovative leader to join our Trust, to work within our new secondary academy based in Goole. As Principal you will provide inspirational leadership to drive the Academy forward.

The Principal will have the required leadership experience, vision and ambition, coupled with strong management and communication skills to motivate the staff team, student body and engage with the wider community. Thus securing rapid and sustainable improvement, building capacity in teaching, leadership and support at all levels. The desire and ability to achieve high standards of behaviour, progress and attainment across and beyond the Academy is essential.

The post offers the opportunity to join the senior leadership team in an Academy that benefits from being part of a significant Multi-Academy Trust and is committed to making a difference to communities on a local level, while individually improving the life chances of all young people.

Goole High School is an 11-18 mixed sex comprehensive school, specialising in Maths and Computing, serving the community of Goole. At its recent Ofsted inspection in January 2009 it was judged to be a ‘good and rapidly improving school with good capacity for further improvement’. Its ambition to be outstanding was recognised in the lead inspector’s letter to students.
