Cobholm Primary is a small school with a big heart - and we’re looking for a passionate and creative principal who can help reset the life chances of children in one of the country’s most deprived areas.

Nestling on the edge of the picturesque Broads and close to the bright sandy beaches of Great Yarmouth, Cobholm has suffered from historic low social mobility, low aspiration, and economic stagnation. Fresh investment from the port and the energy industry is changing that, and as principal you will be key to ensuring local children have the right foundations to take full advantage of these new opportunities.

With a new knowledge-rich curriculum and strong early years progress, we are already beginning to break the mould. Your role will be to carry those improvements right through the school.

The academy joined the Trust in special measures and has come on immeasurably since then – but there is still a tough job to do to raise it up, and we are committed to continued, sustained improvement.

As part of the Inspiration Trust, the academy benefits from a wide range of support. We are introducing a knowledge-rich curriculum across our schools, with a nationally-recognised team of subject specialist leaders acting as catalyst. Together with our school subject leaders they are shaping a move from late-stage intervention to confident, broad curricula from nursery up.
