Great Yarmouth Primary Academy is a school with a special place in the Inspiration Trust – our first school, it exemplifies the mission of the trust to bring the greatest opportunities and the highest aspirations to every child that we serve.

The school pioneered our extended day approach, and won national plaudits for taking a school that had been in and out of special measures to one with rising results and a Good rating from Ofsted. The academy continues to evolve, with recent building work adding new classrooms to accommodate planned increases in pupil numbers.

The school is within sight of the sandy beaches and bright lights of Great Yarmouth’s tourist area, but its pupils are drawn from areas that have suffered from historic low social mobility and low aspiration. From nursery through to Year 6, your role will be to relight the fire on academic improvements, and ensure that every child makes exceptional progress and leaves with at least the national standard of reading, writing, and mathematics.

With a new knowledge-rich curriculum and strong early years progress, we are already beginning to break the mould. Your role will be to carry those improvements right through the school.

As part of the Inspiration Trust, the academy benefits from a wide range of support. We are introducing a knowledge-rich curriculum across our schools, with a nationally-recognised team of subject specialist leaders acting as catalyst. Together with our school subject leaders they are shaping a move from late-stage intervention to confident, broad curricula from nursery up.
