Fairview is a network of currently 7 schools in Asia and Europe; 5 schools in Malaysia which are fully certified International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools and 2 schools that have begun it's IB certification journey in Scotland UK, and Indonesia. As one of the largest internationally recognised IB World Schools in South East Asia with a solid 40-year track record of academic excellence Fairview has a 3,000 strong student population base, with a student population mix encompassing 60 nationalities.

On top of offering IB education to children from ages 4 to 18, Fairview also offers the NCUK International Foundation Year (IFY) programme for 16 to 18 year olds seeking a fast track route to UK universities or a guaranteed entry into the first year of selected Russell Group universities in the UK. Academically, Fairview have consistently achieved for the last 5 years an average IB Diploma Programme score of 36 (equivalent to 3 A* at A Level as calculated by UCAS Tariff points). Furthermore, by affiliation, Fairview is also an authorised IB teacher-training centre; our University College Fairview (UCF) runs the Bachelor of Education, the Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) for those seeking a new career in teaching and the Masters in Education for new and existing teachers. The PGDE is recognised by both UK National Academic Recognition Information Centre (UK NARIC) and the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). It is also one of the few institutions globally, not only certified to train IB teachers, but is directly attached to IB World schools offering the advantage of teachers gaining academic qualifications whilst teaching without any gaps in their career.

Due to our growth strategy, the Governing Body of Fairview Global seeks to fill a Principal/Head Teacher position with a strong track record of successful senior leadership experience to join our Global Group. The position is within the UK with opportunities for international secondment and a potential variety of start dates from an immediate start to over the next 2 years. Although the Head will lead, is responsible and accountable for and to their own School, the candidate will join our Global Group of Head Teachers who will collaborate with various global senior leadership teams in the developing and delivery of a coherent strategy for the group of schools and its university college. Beyond one of the primary responsibility and/or involvement of the recruitment of students and staff locally and internationally, the Head Teacher will also responsible in leading a variety group-wide projects.

The successful candidate will be a compelling ambassador for Fairview and its vision and mission statement of a learning community that encompasses more than just its students but it also includes its parents, staff, the local community and the wider public. They should be an enthusiastic individual dedicated to building and maintaining positive relationships with children, staff and parents, understanding and relating to them perceptively and sympathetically.

Additionally the successful candidate will have the gravitas and authenticity to engage multiple stakeholders at home and abroad to increase the local and international profile of the appointed school and group of schools. This includes the proficiency to communicate effectively and collaboratively with a variety of Fairview stakeholders and partners including government and local authorities. The ability to identify and grow strategic relationships will be critical, requiring diplomacy, innovation and energy to respond to an ever-changing environment.

Due to the variety training and start dates available, this positions is suited for individuals both with a number of years of experience as a Head Teacher and/or in senior leadership positions (such as department heads, Heads of School, etc.) looking to challenge and to progress their career into various administrative and academic senior positions on an international level with support from the Fairview Global network.
