Principal

Due to the retirement of our highly regarded and respected Principal, the International School of Budapest (ISB) is looking for a new school Principal to take up the position in August 2022.

ISB, which caters for pupils from preparatory to IBDP, is at a crucial and exciting stage of its development. Currently, we have our first Grade 12 (Year 13) students preparing to take the IB Diploma in the academic year 2021-2022.

From Preparatory to Grade 8 (Year 9), we offer both the Hungarian national curriculum and the UK Cambridge curriculum. For Grade 9 – 10 we offer the IGCSE and then the IB Diploma for Grades 11 and 12. We are one of the very few international schools in Budapest which offer this dual choice of curriculum.

ISB is a growing school and over the past three years pupil numbers have increased considerably to approximately 400. We are looking for the new Principal to take the school forward to the next exciting stage of ISB’s development. In common with many schools, we are looking at the ways in which we can make what we teach relevant to the world of work into which our pupils will enter in the future. Thus, we have developed a competence-based curriculum which we offer to all pupils, alongside the more traditional curricula mentioned above.

ISB is a happy, stimulating and very caring school in which pupils and staff achieve well together. It has a good quality of education, high standards of behaviour, attendance, and values, underpinned by an extremely hard-working team. Parents are overwhelmingly supportive of the school.
