Set in a 60 acre campus at Young Epilepsy’s headquarters in Lingfield, Surrey, St Piers School and College caters for over 200 children and young people aged 5 to 25 with epilepsy and associated conditions, including autistic spectrum conditions and complex learning difficulties. Providing education, health and residential services the unique campus houses a school, which moves into a new state of the art building in June 2016, a special further education college with a working farm, residential houses and medical facilities providing diagnosis, assessment, rehabilitation and research.

St Piers School and College is seeking to establish itself as truly world class in its special educational provision and now seeks a Principal to:

  • Be responsible for the day to day operational, pedagogical and financial management of St Piers School and College and its 200 staff
  • Further develop a creative curriculum offer that maintains and further raises standards of learning and teaching and encourages independent learning and living
  • Develop a coherent and seamless ‘all-through’ provision
  • Work with the Governing Body and the Director of Education to take the school and college to ‘outstanding’

Currently an ambitious and successful school or college senior leader with substantial experience of improving special educational needs provision, you are an enthusiastic and inspirational leader who has the drive, ambition and high standards to build on our achievements and further develop all of our educational delivery to a position where it is recognised as ‘best in class’.

You combine an extensive knowledge of and experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs, with creative and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. An effective people manager, you have the interpersonal skills and high professional standards to engage with and motivate staff, learners and parents and the focus and drive needed for whole school management.

In return for your integrity, experience and dynamism we offer you the opportunity to work with a passionate leadership team and a Governing Body with a clear strategic vision for St Piers School and College, in a uniquely holistic environment that brings together medical, therapeutic and educational expertise.
