Job overview
Do you have the vision, drive and passion to succeed in motivating children who have been unable to reach their potential in mainstream school? Would you welcome the opportunity and challenge to maintain an Alternative Provision school that has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted?
Lighthouse Harmonize Education Trust is recruiting a new Principal for Harmonize Academy Alternative Provision Free School to replace our highly successful first incumbent who is retiring this summer.
Located in the heart of Liverpool, Harmonize Academy opened in April 2013 as one of the first Alternative Provision Free Schools in the country and caters for 13 – 16 year olds who struggle in mainstream education. Our vision is to provide outstanding alternative education with individualised learning pathways that radically improve the achievement and life chances of our students. Our learning offer includes a broad and balanced curriculum with a focus on the core academic subjects, English, Maths and Science, as well as a broad vocational offer with a distinctive Urban Arts, Personal Development and Enterprise base. We are an equal opportunities non-discriminatory school with a Christian ethos, admitting young people from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs.
We are now recruiting a new Principal to continue shaping Harmonize Academy as a beacon of excellence as we continue to broaden our curriculum and aspire to improve academic attainment for some of the most vulnerable young people in Merseyside.
Students make rapid progress in their learning and this is maintained throughout their time at the academy. …They leave with improved skills in literacy and numeracy, much improved attendance and behaviour and with better possibilities for their futures. (Ofsted 2015)
Closing date for applications: Monday 5th February 2018
Interviews will be held on: Wednesday 21st February 2018
