Loreto College, a leading Catholic Sixth Form College in Hulme/Moss Side Manchester, is seeking an outstanding leader to become its next Principal, to shape the College’s future and build on the exceptional achievements of our students and staff, on the retirement of our current Principal. We are one of the largest sixth form colleges in the country and regularly ranked as one of the top performing colleges in the North West for A-level grades (APE), with an excellent record of progression for our comprehensive, multi-ability and diverse student population of 3,300. The college is graded an ALPS score of 1 for A level in the recent (2016-2017) valued-added measure. Loreto has an outstanding financial and Ofsted rating and was designated as a teaching school in 2014 and is a member of the ‘Teach Manchester’ alliance. We form part of an international network of Catholic schools and colleges established by the Loreto Sisters. Loreto has been awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education for achievement in an inner city context.
A practicing Catholic, you will share a commitment to our educational mission and values. You will be excited by this opportunity to provide the hands-on leadership of a college of our scale and social value. You will have an impressive record of strategic thinking, and innovative change management, as well as an appetite for seizing opportunities to drive further excellence, added value and growth. You will have a very good understanding of the Sixth Form Education sector at regional and national levels. This opportunity will be attractive to current Principals, Vice Principals, Deputy Principals and Head Teachers of schools with a large sixth form provision.
You will be an excellent practitioner, able to lead our teaching and learning and our quality and professional development systems by example, and to manage with confidence all areas of organisational development. You will be confident in being an ambassador for Loreto College and passionate about driving a curriculum and educational provision that is demanding yet inclusive.
