EMLC Academy Trust seeks to appoint an exceptional leader who will ensure that the academy provides the best opportunities for all pupils to reach their potential and who believes in outstanding outcomes for all. The new Principal will need to lead in a manner consistent with the aspirational, inclusive and nurturing ethos of Orchard Academy.

Orchard Academy is a popular school and has experienced remarkable successes in the Springfield area of Milton Keynes. It is a vibrant and inclusive academy, which thrives at the heart of a diverse and dynamic community.

Achieving Ofsted 'Good' in June 2014, the academy is flourishing and continues its path towards Outstanding. This performance has been recognised by the Local Authority and the academy continues to undergo a dynamic period of growth and development as it seeks to expand to a four-form entry. In 2016 Orchard Academy was recognised as one of the top performing academies in SATS both locally and nationally; rated 6th in Milton Keynes and in the top 20% nationally.

  • has significant proven experience of their impact on students' progress and who will raise educational standards for all the departments of the academy;
  • possesses excellent leadership, management, communication and personal skills;
  • has the presence to be able to promote values that maintain a disciplined, orderly school with a caring ethos;
  • will work collaboratively with EMLC Academy Trust, staff, students, governors, parents, pupils, the wider community, and external organisations.

EMLC Academy Trust aims to support the successful candidate in all aspects of school life thereby fully creating a practice of effective learning and development throughout the academy and its community and to offer:
