Job overview

Do you have the vision, drive and commitment to excellence to lead New Forest Academy at this exciting and important time in its development?

We are seeking an authentic and inspiring leader, looking for their next challenge. A leader who is  profoundly ambitious for our school with a belief that all pupils have an entitlement to an excellent education.  A leader who is committed to the highest standards of teacher and leader development and truly wants the best for all our pupils.

New Forest Academy is an 11-16 school of 554 pupils, in the heart of Hampshire and we are proud to serve the South Waterside community. New Forest Academy is rated as a ‘Good’ school by OfSTED.

Due to the retirement of the current Principal, we are looking for a talented, high calibre leader with experience of senior leadership in a high performing school and a commitment to excellence, to take the school forward into an exciting new stage of its journey. The New Forest Academy is a small but growing academy with a positive culture and students who are enthusiastic about their learning.

The new principal will enter a well-established school with much to be proud of and celebrate. Nevertheless, there is always more to achieve and we are keen to drive and improve standards further.  Under the leadership of the right new principal, New Forest Academy will continue to be recognised and celebrated as the truly fantastic community school it is, but also strive for sustainable excellence across all aspects of its provision. We would welcome applications from existing headteacher or Deputy Head Teachers who would be very well supported and coached through our well established regional structure.

New Forest  Academy is part of a national network of schools at AET,  brought together by one common vision and a passionate belief that each and every child can lead a remarkable life. An excellent education transforms lives and every pupil who attends one of our schools is given the support, care and opportunity they need to flourish. We leverage our scale to support all our teachers, leaders and young people to be the best they can be.

You will be joining one of the largest and most inclusive trusts in the country - one where your work is truly valued and where you will receive the recognition and rewards to motivate you to build on your achievements.

If you are excited by this role and believe you have the values, vision, and expertise to lead the academy to sustainable excellence, then we want to hear from you.

To arrange a school visit or to find out more, call Tanya Bentham, Head of Talent on 0203 947 5689 or email: recruitment@academiesenterprisetrust.org or contact Linda Connor Recruitment Consultant, Tes on 0114 397 2085 or email: linda.connor@tes.com.

This offers a unique opportunity to join our organisation at a critical and exciting time.

Interview dates: Tuesday 1 February 2022 and Wednesday 2 February 2022

Academies Enterprise Trust embraces diversity and promotes equality of opportunity.  Co-headship, job share, part time and flexible working opportunities will be considered.

At New Forest Academy, our staff strive to enable ambitious futures for all young people.  The expert teaching of our ambitious curriculum allows students from all backgrounds to achieve their full academic potential.  We provide exceptional opportunities to develop the unique interests and talents of our students, and to prepare them for life in modern Britain.  Strong relationships and first-class support across the community ensure that students are safe, happy and successful.

These are exciting times at the Academy.  Staff are proud that the success of recent years was reflected in our recent examination results.  And as Ofsted noted at their last inspection, "Leaders have successfully improved teaching across the school.  There is a strong culture of learning among the staff which is continuing this improvement."

Students at the Academy are very proud of their school.  They are respectful to each other and behave very well in and out of lessons. There is a strong culture of support for students and this helps to ensure their safety and wellbeing.  We are proud to serve the South Waterside community.  As a small school we are fortunate to be able to really get to know each student very well.  Our children are part of a school with a real community feel.

All staff receive high-quality support which enables them to flourish at work.  As part of a large and successful multi-academy trust in AET, they are provided with training and opportunities for impactful collaborative work which allow all to thrive in their areas of expertise.  At New Forest Academy, we seek to develop outstanding educationalists and leaders of the future.

I am excited about the future, and I invite you to join in our journey.
