Job overview

At the Bobby Moore Academy, we're providing exceptional all-through primary and secondary education for 4-18 year olds, with outstanding cultural and sporting facilities and a supportive, high potential culture. There's no question that this is one of the most exciting Principal roles currently available in London and we're expecting interest from candidates of commensurate calibre.

Bobby Moore Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, offers a world-class education for the children of East London. With an iconic primary and secondary site immediately adjacent to the Olympic Stadium, we opened to our very first cohort of year 7 students in September 2017 and welcomed the first group of Reception pupils in September 2018.

The DRET vision for education is:

Crafting an unbeatable learning climate through our Warm:Strict philosophy, we hold unapologetically high expectations for and of the students in our care. We have clear boundaries, rules and routines because students deserve to feel safe and calm in school.

We value acquisition of powerful knowledge as a goal in itself, as an entitlement for all children. We invest significant time and resource into ensuring that students gain a wide, broad knowledge base to enable them to become active members of their community in the future. Alongside a rigorous and challenging academic curriculum, students also experience a broad range of sport, art and musical opportunities ensuring that they have the richest experience a secondary education can give.

Our teachers are subject experts and make use of evidence-based research to ensure that they pass on their knowledge to students in the most direct and effective ways, ensuring that it is learnt, remembered and that it supports every child  to achieve their fullest potential.

We want to hear from ambitious and high-achieving head teachers, whose background should include a substantial and effective period in the secondary phase. Your professionalism and clarity of thought will set you apart from your peers, and you'll also bring the intellectual and creative capacity to take a system-leadership role across the David Ross Education Trust.

The David Ross Education Trust is committed to becoming one of the top-performing multi-academy trusts in the country. Recognised as a nationwide system leader, the Trust works with 34 primary and secondary schools across the country, ranging from small rural primaries with around 50 children, to much larger secondary schools in urban areas. Working together, with a shared ethos and values, our close-knit family of schools allows pupils to begin and continue their world-class academic journey throughout primary and secondary school within the David Ross Education Trust.
