ICS Milan is a highly successful international school in Milan for children from 2-18 (currently 2-15) and part of the Globeducate school group http://www.globeducate.com/ 

The school adopts a STEAM approach to learning, using Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics as access points for building student enquiry, critical thinking and exploring a child’s creative mind. It gives exposure to project-based learning, hand on experience to learn various fundamental motor skills and help children develop analytical skills required for problem solving.

We offer a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum. In Early Years we follow The British Early Years Foundation Stage. In Primary, we follow The Primary School follows the Cambridge Primary Programme, covering English and Maths, and The IPC -International Primary Curriculum, covering the topic-based subjects (science, social studies, geography, history, art and international mindedness). We are currently exploring the PYP to complement our IB MYP programme in Years 7-11 and the IB Diploma in Years 12 and 13.

As a Paritaria school (i.e. certified by Italian School System) , we incorporate National recommendations for the curriculum as established by the Italian Ministry of Education for the Italian language and culture programme. All children in the Primary school learn Italian, either as a first or second language and integrating Italian education and culture is a key strength of the school.

We are looking to appoint a Principal of Primary and Early Years,  who will provide effective, dynamic and inspirational leadership to the ICS Milan community. They will report to the Executive Principal and build on the success of the Primary and Early Years as we enter the next phase of the school’s growth and development.

They will lead, develop and continue to improve the school, in line with Globeducate’s mission, values and the Platinum Standard framework.

The Principal of Primary and Early Years will ensure the school's future success by:

- Upholding the school and group's mission and principles. 

- Maintaining and improving the quality of education that we offer. 

- Through effective management by leading the Primary and Early Years phases of the school in an organised and efficient way. 

- Ensuring that we involve our students, parents and the wider community in our education and the breadth of educational initiative we offer. 

The selection process is as follows: 

• Closing date for Applications: Friday 17th December

• Selected candidates will be invited to a long list interview via a Zoom call;

Short list interviews will take place via remote methods 

• The successful candidate will be required to provide original documents and certificates prior to appointment and/or go through immigration process, which includes providing Declaration of Value in Italy of earned diplomas and certificates.

Curriculum

ICS Milan offers a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum that integrates the following frameworks:

EARLY YEARS

  • The British Early Years Foundation Stage, a play-based framework, featuring the learning and development goals for young children from birth to five years.


PRIMARY SCHOOL

  • The Cambridge Primary Programme, covering English and maths.
  • The IPC - International Primary Curriculum, covering the topic-based subjects (science, social studies, geography, history, art and international mindedness).
  • National recommendations for the curriculum as established by the Italian Ministry of Education for the Italian language and culture programme. In the 2016/17 academic year, ICS Milan was granted officially recognised school status (parità).


SECONDARY SCHOOL

ICS Secondary School has been designed to offer the IB Programme of the International Baccalaureate:

  • Middle Years Programme for students from 11 to 16 years old.
  • IB Diploma programme 17-18 years old.


As a Scuola Paritaria, our students have the flexibility to move between the Italian and international curriculum, opting to complete the Scuola Media and sit the Licenza Media exams with us, and move back to the Italian system for Liceo, or, to continue with us to complete their Scuola Superiore studies in 4 years alongside the IB, MYP and DP.
