Job description

Pegasus Primary School is part of United Learning, a successful national group of academies and independent schools. Our schools share a mission to bring out ‘the best in everyone’ and to improve the life chances of the children and young people in their care.

Our Oxford cluster comprises of Pegasus, Orchard Meadow and Windale Schools. Our cluster model enables high quality, bespoke school improvement and wider opportunities for both staff and students to work collaboratively.

Pegasus Primary School is a school buzzing with excitement, a place where all members of the community feel part of the school and strive for academic excellence and scholarship.

This is an excellent opportunity for a leader looking to combine the challenge of running their own school within a cluster and as part of a national group.  United Learning prioritises collaboration, values shared practice and provides high-quality professional development.

The Oxford cluster primary schools serve the Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys area, a large housing estate with approximately 13,000 residents situated some three miles south of the city of Oxford. Many of the residents on both estates face a great number of issues, including inter-generational unemployment, low achievement and frequent social upheaval.

The schools work to counteract these issues, with an emphasis on combining excellent classroom practice with additional opportunities to enhance the aspirations of the local community. Oxford, with its two universities, theatres and museums is one of the finest European cities and provides endless opportunities for the staff and children.

As Principal of Pegasus Primary School, you will demonstrate a clear commitment to the school and its community. You will model outstanding leadership and set high expectations for pupils and staff. Your professionalism, expertise and enthusiasm for education will be evident each and every day, in all that you do.

If you are looking for an exciting, challenging and highly rewarding role within a Group that offers a strong commitment to professional development, and if you have an unshakeable commitment to improving the lives of young people, we encourage you to visit us.
