Ambito Education (part of Salutem Healthcare Ltd) are a leading provider currently looking for an inspirational and innovative leader to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead Craig y Parc School on its journey from ‘Good’ to ‘Outstanding’. Craig Y Parc is an independent special school for pupils aged 3–19 with complex support needs, including physical and sensory impairments, and severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.  Established in 1955 we’ve underpinned our practice around the principles of Conductive Education and built a strong reputation for helping our students to realise their educational and personal potential.

We’re more than just a school and go further than just providing education.

The Role

As Principal you will be leading the multi-disciplinary team at the school and Ty Cwtch, our residential children’s service, promoting a culture of high standards, expectations and continuous improvement.  You’ll bring passion to what you do and as an excellent communicator you will act as an ambassador for Craig Y Parc, working in partnership with parents, local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that the unique offer of the school is the first choice for parents and young people.  You ideally will have experience of senior leadership in special schools dealing with PMLD and SLD and a good understanding and awareness of what is required to be a headteacher of this type of school. You will also share our core belief that all pupils are entitled to a stimulating, personalised curriculum where each and every pupil can learn, develop and make progress.

Working with the Managing Director of Education you will have access to best practice, CPD opportunities, a network of great Principals, Care Leaders and specialist Support Services and the chance to shape the future and ongoing development of this fantastic school.

The School

Set in a 30 acre site, Craig y Parc currently offers specialist education provision for 25 young people and also has 16 beds for 52 week and flexible residential placements. There is a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary staff team which includes teachers, support workers, nurses, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, assistive technologists and occupational therapists.  As well as a hydrotherapy pool and multi-sensory room, we make full use of our beautiful, extensive grounds to provide an exciting range of learning environments.
