Copley Academy is a popular and improving school seeking to appoint a committed, hardworking Principal who can live our GREAT values and lead the excellent work already taking place to develop the school. We are a small secondary school with a supportive staff who are committed to our improvement journey. Leaders and colleagues are determined to regain ‘Good’ and work towards being the outstanding school that we know Copley Academy can be.
This is an exciting role and opportunity to work within Great Academies Education Trust with great colleagues, great support and great students. You will be supported at every step by the recently appointed GAET Chief Executive Officer, the Trust Board, a Local Governing Committee, a committed senior leadership team and the Trust improvement and support team (GIST).
We believe that all children and young people deserve outstanding schools, but we are not there yet. So come and join us and help to inspire greatness.
Our new Principal should have considerable experience at a senior leadership level, a proven track record of improving educational outcomes and managing change within a school. This will be combined with extensive experience of school improvement planning and evaluation that leads to impact and improved outcomes.

- Being the ‘standard bearer’ of the vision and values of Copley Academy as part of Great Academies Education Trust
- Being able to create a culture of constant improvement, implementing effective systems and securing high levels of professional standards so that we attain excellence in every aspect of the school’s provision
