Job overview
Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 6SG
Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy (TWOA) is a special school in Ipswich for children aged 3 to 16. With around 95 children on roll, we’re located on a purpose-built campus alongside our sister school, Ormiston Endeavour Academy. TWOA is part of the highly-regarded Ormiston Academies Trust, one of the largest and longest-established Trusts in England. We’re determined to be the Trust that makes the biggest difference both inside and outside the classroom, and we’re looking for an influential and inspiring special education leader to join us as Principal.
If you’re an experienced professional, keen to drive excellence in special education within an established and effective MAT, this could be the one for you. Our new Principal will report into an established Director of Primary and SEND, who will provide support, challenge and guidance. You’ll work collaboratively with principals across the Trust to secure the very best outcomes for the pupils they serve, and you will be an important part of this very supportive network.
With an impressive track record to date, and an ambitious vision for inclusive special education that sets new benchmarks, you’ll be accountable for developing and sustaining exceptional educational provision. You must share our commitment to transforming the educational and future life opportunities of all pupils at TWOA, and will be personally and professionally closely aligned to OAT’s values, vision and mission. In return, we will offer you an extremely supportive working environment and commitment to your continued professional development. As well as a competitive salary, the remuneration package offered includes PHI and membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
For an initial and informal conversation about the role and the academy, please contact our consultant David Gooda at Navigate NDC either by email david.gooda@navigategroup.co.uk or 07841 976699.
Applications should be submitted via the OAT Careers website .
Closing date: 9am, 2 February 2022.
OAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the expectation is that all staff will share this commitment. Therefore, the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS and barred list check.
