The Highland Council is undertaking an ambitious programme of change to meet the challenges and fully embrace the unique opportunities that exist in the Highlands of Scotland including the fastest growing city in Europe and some of the most remote and sparsely populated parts of the United Kingdom. Lochaber High School is six-year comprehensive which serves the town of Fort William and the greater Lochaber area, the current roll is 826.

The school stands in spectacular surroundings to the north of Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis. Set in the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’, Lochaber High offers a unique and extensive range of extra-curricular activities. A multi-million pound refurbishment and rebuilding programme ‘Lochaber 21’ was recently completed and has brought about considerable improvements to the campus.

You will be joining a high performing successful organisation located in a unique part of the country, a removal and relocation package of up to £6,500 is available.

Highland Council is committed to the enhancement and delivery of learning and teaching through a digital learning project, which will provide pupils with 1 to 1 devices from P6 to S6.

 Lochaber High School is a co-educational, non-denominational six year comprehensive in the Scottish Highlands. As of the most recent inspection there were 862 students on the school roll. The school is located adjacent to the River Lochy. Lochaber is a district of Fort William, whose 10,000 inhabitants make it the second largest town in the Highlands. The school promotes extra-curricular activities, including sports such as football and sixth year trips to London. The school excels in the sport of shinty, and in previous years have been U14 and U16 national champions. The school was founded in 1960, and has 11 associated primary schools in the area.
