The RSA Academy in Tipton (West Midlands) is an oversubscribed and expanding 11-19 school with 1047 students (including Sixth Form). This will rise to 1200 plus sixth form over the next four years. The school has been at the heart of our community since becoming an academy in 2008, and a member of the RSA Family of Academies. The school joined the Central RSA Academies Trust on October 1st 2017.
The Academy was judged to be ‘good’ by Ofsted inspection in July 2016. The school is highly aspirational, boasting fantastic facilities for both students and staff, including a £5 million new build block, to enable expansion that opened in September. Significant changes have been made in the last year to remove barriers to improvement, and the successful candidate will be joining the school at a critical and exciting time to drive things forward.
We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Principal, who is grounded and pragmatic, and committed to securing the highest standards of learning, teaching and leadership at the school. The post holder will be fully active in the Trust, supporting leadership of school improvement and collaborative developments, within the Trust and beyond when capacity allows. The successful candidate will be active in the wider RSA Family of Academies, supporting the development of those within the wider RSA Family. The RSA is an influential organisation with a strong history of educational initiatives.
Our new Principal will have led change, resulting in raised standards, innovative practice based on evidence of impact, and the involvement of students, parents, staff, and the wider community. The work with our local primary schools to build even stronger links will be a very important focus.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead this vibrant school. The school plays a strong role in the RSA Academies Teaching School Alliance, which has excellent leadership development, CPD and Initial Teacher Training programmes. The school is part of a growing multi-academy trust with primary and secondary phase schools. We are looking for a Principal whose values align with those of the school and the Central RSA Academies Trust.
