Hartshill School

The Midlands Academies Trust are looking to appoint an inspirational Principal to lead Hartshill School onto its next exciting phase of its development.

The Midland Academies Trust (MAT) is a family of four secondary schools working in collaboration with North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College. We serve about 3,000 students in the Nuneaton and North Warwickshire area. We work at the heart of our local community with the common goal of ‘Creating Successful Futures’ for students in our care, and we are looking for people who share our vision.

It is an exciting time to join Hartshill School, a school on a journey of rapid improvement. In the last few years with a focus on high standards and expectations, high quality teaching, a new curriculum and raising aspirations, the school is on a transformational journey.

It’s an exciting time for the future of Hartshill School as The Department for Education brings forward ambitious plans for the re-development of Hartshill School’s existing school buildings. Hartshill has been selected as one of the first 50 schools in England to receive funding under the government’s School Rebuilding Programme. The objective is to replace the existing secondary school with a modern, efficient three-storey school building, that will provide pupils with a high-quality learning environment that will raise aspirations. The new building is due to open in September 2023.

Our new Principal will not only lead Hartshill School but will also work as a member of the Trust Senior Leadership Team playing a vital part in Trust-wide work. When you join any of our schools, you become part of a family, where we believe that our staff are our greatest resource. Everything we do as a Trust has to fulfil the twin aims of accelerating student progress and reducing staff workload – if it doesn’t achieve both we simply don’t do it.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact our leadership recruitment partner Chris Gartner from Hays Leadership on 07595 646 645 or via email to chris.gartner@hays.com

Closing deadline for applications: Monday 6th of December at 9:00am

The Midlands Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS).
