Job overview

London South Bank University was established 125 years ago to change lives.

Our aim was to make a difference to the lives, businesses and community that we serve - and we still do that today. Around 25% of our students come from south-east London, and we’re giving them the opportunity learn in a truly global environment that delivers high quality professional and technical education.

Now we are doing something new and different; we are creating a family of institutions to work together to further improve what we do and how we do it.

Our family includes a wide range of educational providers, from schools to further and higher education; we can deliver truly inclusive education across the capital.

And now we need you to help us continue to learn and improve.

As our new Pro Vice Chancellor (Compulsory and Further Education), you will lead the continued development and growth of our schools, FE, and vocational provision. You will be responsible for all academic and curriculum matters relating to our Family, as well as other OFSTED related activity.

You will lead on our apprenticeship offer, and you will promote and develop our relationship with our local community.

This key role will report directly into our Group Chief Executive and Vice Chancellor and, as a member of the Executive team, will contribute to the corporate and strategic leadership of the university.

You should be a proven leader with good standing in schools or further education, you will have experience of leading major organisational change, and you will have a deep understanding of the education sector as well as the ability to innovate and drive future policy direction in the sector.

You will develop a commercially sound business plan for the LSBU family, and you will be as excited as we are by the opportunity to help our community become what it wants to be.
