About Blue Coat Church of England School & Music College

Blue Coat is a successful and oversubscribed school in the heart of the city of Coventry.  As a Christian school our intake draws from both the local area and across the city and surrounding areas.  Consequently we have a diverse intake and a culturally thriving school. The school was graded 'Outstanding' in its SIAMS inspection and 'Good' by Ofsted in May 2023 with 3 'Outstanding' categories. Our most recent Progress 8 score was +0.42.  The vast majority of our students stay on into the sixth form and continue their studies.

We have a large and successful Post 16 provision with 350 pupils on average studying either A levels or Vocational Level 3 courses.  We have excellent rates of progression to universities, apprenticeships and employment.

You are considering joining the school at an exciting time as we strive to provide an outstanding education for every young person. You will be joining a hardworking and dedicated team of support staff, teachers and senior leaders. We believe that every child can succeed regardless of background or start point and expect the same commitment from all who work with us.

Blue Coat school is a fantastic, supportive place to work and learn and I look forward to receiving your application should you choose to apply.

Staff are committed to providing a supportive and caring Christian environment where excellent educational provision, outstanding pastoral care and a wide and varied programme of extra-curricular opportunities blend together to create an environment where every individual is valued.  The school revolves around its core values of Care, Hard Work, Respect, Integrity, Servanthood and Togetherness, creating an environment where students and staff work together in harmony and learn from each other.

Encouraging excellence and nurturing talent leads to our winning combination of academic rigour within a caring community. We offer a broad range of high quality educational opportunities which extend teaching and learning both inside and outside the curriculum to create an exciting and stimulating learning community where all students are expected to use their intelligence and leadership abilities to contribute constructively to the life of the school.
