The Role

OCR's reformed suites of GCSE and A Levels were developed between 2013 and 2017 and the organisation now has an opportunity to take advantage of this substantial investment to strengthen its position in its key markets. 

The Product Manager – Science, will be responsible for identifying ways to improve our Science products and ensure they are well placed to address market opportunities.

Working alongside other members of the Product Management team the successful applicant will lead the future direction of our current and next generation Science products.

The Product Manager – Science, will hold responsibility for the long-term success of a multi-million pound group of products. The role will sit at the heart of the organisation, working extensively with all OCR's departments to achieve its goals. 

What you'll be doing

  • Monitoring OCR's GCSE and A Level Science products to identify options and actions to enhance performance.
  • Developing and maintaining strategic plans and working with a range of teams to lead the associated business delivery.
  • Building product proposals, defining and communicating the associated vision and targets.
  • Collaborating with Sales and Marketing on campaign specifications and targets.
  • Establishing product support requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement.

 About you

  • You will have commercial awareness; with an ability to analyse financial information and performance data to make decisions and recommendations.
  • You will have a Science background and an awareness of the Science qualifications markets in which OCR's products operate.
  • You may have experience of product management, or be able to show a keen interest in this area.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to be future focussed, continually driving improvement to increase the effectiveness.
  • Above all, you will be a great communicator and influencer, able to work collaboratively to bring colleagues with you.
