The College was founded in 1995 following the amalgamation of the Catholic primary and secondary schools in the Moreton Bay Region. The multi-campus College operates as the principal Catholic College on the Redcliffe peninsula. Southern Cross Catholic College has three campuses located in Scarborough, Kippa Ring and Woody Point accommodating students in Prep to Year 6 and a fourth campus in Scarborough accommodating middle and senior years students from Year 7 to 12.

The secondary campus is seeking a suitably qualified, passionate and experienced applicant for the position of Professional Assistant to the Head of Campus, Secondary.

The position is for 30hrs per week (additional hours may be added to the role in 2023) - Monday to Friday. This is a continuing position commencing July 2022.

To be successful in this role you will have proven secretarial skills, with strong communication and organisational abilities. This person possesses excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, school portals and students databases. Previous experience with BCE systems and procedures would be advantageous but not essential.

You will be responsible for providing strong administrative support to the Head of Campus and Leadership team, as well as overseeing the work of other administrative/clerical staff and have the ability to work autonomously and exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; 
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • provide evidence of full COVID vaccinated as directed by the Qld Chief Health Officer

Weeks worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 30 hours, 5 days per week

Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 5 - $34.37 per hour

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement

This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
