The Faculty of English, Languages and IB is dedicated to providing high quality teaching and learning experiences across a range of A level courses including English Literature, English Language, Modern Foreign Languages and Classical Civilisation. The Faculty also leads our very successful International Baccalaureate programme at the College. The progression, success rates and progress of our learners are excellent. We are committed to supporting learners to achieve to the very best of their ability and are eager to continue to develop our enthusiastic and highly motivated group of staff to support this remit. We have an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty as a Programme Leader with responsibility for delivering and overseeing the co-ordination of A Level Classical Civilisation and we are looking for an outstanding teacher with a strong sense of vision to build on the strengths of our existing provision and to take this course forward. We have the flexibility to offer this role on either a part-time (at least 0.5) or a full-time basis for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for motivating and supporting learners to maximise their potential. You will be a passionate advocate of Classics, and the value of the subject to learners today. Ideally you will be a subject specialist with previous experience of teaching Classics or Classical Civilisation at A Level, but applications from candidates with proven excellence in delivering linked subjects such as Literature or History at A Level will be considered. You will be ready to take on proactive and committed subject leadership, contributing confidently to the quality assurance and quality improvement of the course and demonstrating dedication to consistently honing and refining approaches to teaching, learning and assessment to achieve outstanding outcomes. As an innovative and creative practitioner, you will inspire high levels of learner engagement and enjoyment. You will have the ability to build productive working relationships with learners and to provide high-quality pastoral care as an A Level tutor.

Working within the Faculty of English, Languages and IB, you will also need to have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and to be a strong communicator.
