Job overview

The Faculty of IT are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic lecturer, with a real passion for Teaching and Learning, to become a part of our team. We would welcome applicants with industry or teaching experience in either of the following areas: Digital Marketing, Business or Entrepreneurship. In return we offer you the opportunity to join a dynamic vocational faculty which is currently developing and delivering a brand new and exciting curriculum offer including BTECs, T levels and Apprenticeships. Our HE qualifications are validated by the University of Plymouth and we are continuing our work with esports by introducing a new HNC esports from September 2023 to complement our HNC / HND in Applied Computing. In addition to teaching, you will also offer pastoral support as a tutor.

Topics that you may be keen to deliver on or support might include:

  • Digital Environments and Analytics
  • Culture and Diversity
  • Driving Digital Content and Engagement

Ideally, you will have previous experience of delivering digital business and/ or related subjects either in a further education or schools setting. However, we would also like to invite applications from NQTs and those currently without a teaching qualification, who would be interested in committing to a career in teaching. The college delivers an excellent Certificate of Education programme and can offer the opportunity to train as a teacher alongside this role. 

Our IT faculty is based in the heart of the city centre, just a few minutes’ walk from Exeter Central Station. We also have classrooms and specialist facilities in the recently opened Digital and Data Centre, our brand-new building offering high-quality, cutting-edge provision to support our students. This building boasts a fully equipped IT lab for our computer technicians as well as a sector leading esports venue, used by our competition winning students. In addition, it contains specialist Apple teaching facilities and high end HE delivery spaces including a 140+ seat lecture theatre. Our curriculum is enhanced by our being a Microsoft Academy, a CISCO Academy and an Apple Authorised Training Centre.
