Faculty of Humanities: Programme Leader for Health & Social Care
For September 2017
Salary: Inner London MPS/UPS + TLR 2b.
(Salary for a teacher on UPS3, assuming a 1% inflation uplift would be £52,035)
At Kingsbury High School we do things differently.
We have long given up on “grading” lessons; instead we focus on using coaching to improve teaching and developing a growth mindset with our students.
We focus on doing what is right for our students – not what ticks the box for Ofsted. We are working hard to develop a culture of staff well-being; our in-service programme includes an annual well-being day and work life balance evenings. Opportunities for further professional development are offered in particular through our membership of the Harrow Collegiate Teaching Schools Alliance.
Prospective candidates are welcome to come and look around the school to see for yourself what makes Kingsbury High different. As a large 12 form entry 11-18 split site school we are situated in an inner London location, but with an out of London feel – surrounded by parkland with large playing fields and great local amenities. Our school is truly diverse in its makeup, whilst united as one family working to achieve the best for all our students.
The Faculty comprises of Geography, History, Religious Studies and Social Sciences. Associate Heads of Faculty oversee each of the principal subject areas and there is an enthusiastic and committed team of 20 teachers together with a Curriculum Associate to support the faculty with administrative tasks and student support. There are thriving sixth form groups in all subjects.
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic teacher to lead Level 3 Health & Social Care and the ability to teach Sociology would be an advantage.
The post is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to teach and work within a team of highly motivated and inspiring staff.
