About you

We are looking for an experienced Programme Leader for Health and Social Care provision at the College for a 2 year fixed term contract. 

The Programme Area needs a dynamic and enthusiastic leader of Health and Social Care to inspire staff and students and be part of a very supportive and forward-thinking team. You will be required to take responsibility and accountability for high quality and innovative curriculum provision, alongside delivering excellence in teaching, tutorial and pastoral support, ensuring learners reach their full potential. 

The area provides a range of full and part-time courses in Health and Social Care from level 1 to 5. 

You will have an outward facing approach to engaging learners in the wider community and vice versa to ensure that learners gain a vocationally relevant and enriching experience.

Leading an exciting new approach to Further Education in the unique British Island of Guernsey.

Guernsey College of Further Education has over 5,000 enrolments each year and offers a wide range of courses for the Bailiwick community.  We have 5 key areas of provision: 

•  14-16 – high school pupils can access a range of vocational qualifications as part of their year 10 & 11 provision.

•  16-19 – full-time courses, at entry level to level 3 aimed primarily at school leavers, however applications from mature students are welcomed. 

•  Part-time professional courses – we offer CPD courses for a variety of professions, from 1 day seminars to longer HE programmes. 

•  Apprenticeships – the college provides the vocational training for the States Registered Apprenticeship Scheme. 

•  Adult &  Community education – we pride ourselves in offering a huge selection of leisure courses, such as wine tasting, craft, cookery, maritime and many more.
