Job overview

Bishop Burton College is one of the leading land-based Colleges in the UK with strong and sustained growth in student numbers, providing Further Education and Higher Education at our Campuses. We have a large and varied Estate spread over three sites, one situated in the picturesque village of Bishop Burton and the other two sites based near Lincolnshire. The Lincolnshire sites include a brand new Showground Campus featuring state of the art teaching environments, engineering workshops, sports facilities, world class laboratories and an industry leading animal management unit. At our Bishop Burton campus we have undergone a multi-million pound campus development programme including significant investment in state of the art teaching and learning facilities, sports facilities, a commercially run farm and an international standard equestrian facility.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join our team as a Programme Leader for our non-land based provision. You will take a lead role in the management and development of Higher Education in a range of programmes such as Sport, Criminology, Fashion, Design and Floristry. You will also play a key role in recruiting to programmes for the Lincolnshire campus in 2019-20, with opportunities to further develop curriculum in Health and Social Care and Business. Additionally, you will teach, mark and assess students as well as monitor attendance and attainment whilst working in conjunction with our successful sporting academies.

Experienced in managing Higher Education programmes you will also have teaching or training experience at Level 6 or above in one of the subject areas within the current curriculum offer. You must be able to provide evidence of successful curriculum development as well as experience of implementing innovative ideas which impact positively on student enhancing the student experience. You will have a forward thinking approach to enhancing student experience. An excellent communicator, you will be enthusiastic, highly organised, and able to work flexibly as part of a team. The higher education sector is currently experiencing unprecedented change and this post will support the college implementation of these changes in order that we continue to provide positive outcomes for our students.

As an Investors in People Gold award holder, the college prides itself on being values driven with a ‘one team’ ethos. This is recognised by staff as a key strength and, though we challenge our staff to perform to the best of their abilities, the college is a great place to work.
