Job overview

Due to the progression of a member of the team and strong student recruitment, an opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Maths and Science. The college was graded Outstanding again in our very recent Ofsted report. The faculty has had sustained growth and improving outcomes and Value-Added over recent years with our best ever results in Summer 2022. Environmental Science in particular has had consistently exceptional value-added results. We are primarily based in modern purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre. Exeter College effectively provides a Sixth Form College for Exeter as well as drawing in students from across the region due to our reputation for excellence. The college is based a short walk from the thriving city centre of Exeter in the heart of Devon.

The faculty predominantly delivers courses at A Level as well as BTEC Applied Science, the International Baccalaureate and Access to HE. The faculty actively listens to its learners and we have very positive learner feedback. You will be joining a positive and ambitious team with a passion for teaching and learning, and a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. Each team is led by a Curriculum Area Manager. You also will have a mentor and the support of a Tutorial Area Manager and an Advanced Teaching Practitioner. As a Programme Leader you will have the opportunity to take on responsibility for an aspect of a course that you deliver. The role is primarily to deliver Environmental Science at A level. The ability to deliver on another course such as biology or applied science may be an advantage but not a requirement.

Experienced teachers or more recently qualified teachers are invited to apply. The post is due to start next academic year but an earlier start may be possible, depending upon your availability.
